Photo by Ron Kessler 'Broadcasting hours extend -to Saturday on KUER KUER, the University radio station, has extended its broadcasting broad-casting hours to Saturday. The new programming will begin yperation Oct. 7, and its hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The new format features a mixture of successful old programs, ind some new productions in comedy, folk music and jazz. , Iniversity Music Hour returns at 1 1 a.m., and the Oct. 7 program matures the music of Sibelius, Bach, Haydn, and Mozart. At 2 p.m., KUER presents the play-by-play of Utah freshman ootball, beginning with the Utes vs. Mesa College, Oct. 21 The new comedy series is called "Three Cheers for Me!" and ilays at 4 p.m. It comes by way of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and typifies the British style of comedy. At 4:30 .'m., KUER extends "On Campus," the weekly rock music show, S") an hour and forty-five minutes of programming on Saturday, jmd it still beats the downtown stations for getting requests )1;''layed. (5?. Folk Music Americana is the 8 p.m. program, which is billed 0 s "the American experience through music." At 8:30 p.m., jazz .overs turn on to "Bix: The Life and Music of Jazz Great Bix (eiderbecke." That documentary is followed by "Jazz Unlimited," .UER's own program, featuring Bryan Mason as host. News is presented at 5:45 p.m. in a fifteen-minute in-depth 1 ersion, and again at the close of Jazz Unlimited as an evening 'rap-up, with special emphasis on campus news.
