Show Hot time is fun time KTJTE radio will present a stomp on Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. in the Union Ballroom. The stomp will feature "Crack Shot" (formerly known as Shaft), "Holden Caulfield," and "Blind Melon Chitlin." Blind Melon Chitlin will have a synthesizer. Presented by Rudy Koppl, the charge will be $1 and there is no ID required. The ASUU Summer Entertainment En-tertainment Committee will present a series of free concerts beginning Aug. 3. The Summer Country Concert will be the program and will have four bands: The Nauvoo Whistle and Whittling Band, Obidiah's Organic Bluegrass, Smith known internationally for amazing audiences by telling them what's on their minds. lie will ask the people in the audience to concentrate on one thought and then will pick up on one individual. His act also includes in-cludes a series of card tricks concerning the power of concentration. con-centration. Kreskin has made repeated appearances on talk shows which led to a syndicated television show of his own. He is now giving performances such as the one he will give at SEC Friday night. The violinist Silvia Marcovici will be in concert Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Art & Architecture Center Auditorium. Silvia Marcovici was born in Bacau, Romania, in 1952 and attended the local music school. When only 10 she won first prize at the competition lor music and art held in Bucharest. She won the same competition at, the age of 2 and was by then .studying with the renowned Professor Stefan Gheorghiu. In 19(19. when only 17, she received the second Grand Prix at the Marguerite I.ong-Jaques I.ong-Jaques Thibaud competition in addition to the "Prix Special" bestowed upon her by the Prince of Monaco. This event marked the beginning of her international career. She will play works of Mozart, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky and Brahms. Miss Marcovici is being presented by the Summer School, Division of Continuing Educaiton und the College of Fine Arts Associated Students. Admission is $1 and students are admitted free with an II) card. Brothers Dirt Band and Johnny Horse and the Wasatch Mountain Moun-tain Boys. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on the Union Patio. On Tuesday, Hard Rock Music with Charlie Tuna will be presented pre-sented at noon to 1:30 on the Union Patio. The Amazing Kreskin will appear at the Special Events Center (SEC) Aug. 4 at 8 p.m. Kreskin, a mentalist who ctaims no mystical powers, is |
