'Raintree' to kick off entertainment series Kicking off the summer's free entertainment will be the five-member five-member group, The Raintree. The Raintree, a folk group which has been together for 18 months, will be forming from 1 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday on the Union patio. Free drinks will be furnished for those listening to the talents of the groups: Tom Williams, on guitar; Katie Wadsworth, singing; Paul VanDam, playing guitar and banjo; Frank McCullough, playing bass and Mike Malley on drums. Other free summer entertainment sponsored by the Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU) includes W.C. Fields and Spanky and Our Gang films. An old-time music night and a bluegrass music night are also included in the summer lineup. The events will be presented every Tuesday until the close of summer quarter with no admission charge. Tom Hurst, summer entertainment chairman, said of the summer programs, "We're giving the students they're money's worth." |
