Show U pharmacy professor named AACP president nr I l - f I ' A - L.i i. ii m il- ' Dr. Robert V. Petersen, professor of pharmacy and chairman of the Department Depart-ment of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences, will be installed as president of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) during its annual meeting in Houston, April 27. Dr. Petersen is a native of Salt Lake City a"d a graduate of the University, class of 1950. He obtained his PH.D. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1955 and ioined the faculty of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah in 1957. The AACP is an organization composed of the 73 accredited colleges of pharmacy in the United States and Puerto Rico. Pharmacy schools in Canada and the Philippines are affiliate members, along wth several governmental agencies. The AACP is responsible for the standardization stan-dardization and improvement of curricula at the member schools and annually sponsors a seminar for teachers in a specific area of pharmaceutical education. The election of Dr. Petersen is especially significant in that he is the first non-dean 0 serve as president since the -'nation was founded. DR. ROBERT V.
