Mr. lones, who works at Cosmic Aeroplane, is trying to promote such concerts. He is working with the Wild-flowers, Wild-flowers, a group of folk musicians from New york who deal mostly in folk music ranging from blues to old-time rag. The group was started by Bruce Phillips, a guitarist. The musicians do their own managing and bookkeeping. This way, "they insure themselves of more concerts," says Mr. Jones. The musicians tour the U.S. "They enjoy the chance to perform," adds Mr. lones. As the musicians travel through Salt Lake City on their way to the west coast, Mr. lones tries to book them for concerts. Their price is $75-100 a night. Mr. lones says, "It is easy for clubs and coffee houses to book them." Mr. Jones has no immediate plans for future concerts. On Feb. 22, Bruce Phillips performed in the Union ballroom.
