Show Tomin tops scorers as frosh end season Bernard Tomlin ended the frosh basketball season with a total of 542 points. He ended the season with a 30.1 point average. An average which betters that of Billy McGill. The frosh basketball team, coached by Lou Goetz, walked away with two wins last week to end their season favorably. Against Dixie College Friday in the Special Events Center, the young Utes won by a score of 82-80. 82-80. Like the basketball the lead bounced back and forth from home team to the visitors. Although their skills are not perfected as yet, the freshmen proved themselves to be an improved bunch of basketball players both defensively and offensively on the floor Friday. Offensive patterns working into successful passes to score were seen Friday along with sometimes strong defensive work. The players were enthusiastic and it showed. Saturday's game was a little less than a joke. The Utes' frosh played well against the team of Treasure Valley and won by a score of 110-61. The most suspense-filled part of the game was when it was stopped so Bernard Tomlin could find his contact which had dropped out of his eye. The Ute frosh held a pretty substantial lead the whole game and at one time were ahead by 33 points. Coach Goetz was even able to remain re-main soft-spoken and seated throughout the game.
