ASUU does not 'govern' students per se. In theory, it provides services to students that cannot be found through any other agency, and it articulates the student voice. 1Q?rfaiIjSUCally however' this was not "se prior to April 10 1970. With the advent of the new constitution, ASUU was radically radi-cally and irreversibly altered to meet the needs of a growing and diverging multiversity. We, the students of the Fusion Party, recognize and applaud this needed change, but we feel this is only a beginning. There are many services that ASUU can provide, but some it cannot. Experience has taught us that issues such as a Cooperative Co-operative Bookstore, Parking Malls and student concensus are just that-issues. We have learned that these do not make for feasible programs with presently accessable solutions. We will not fall into the political trap of promising solutions to these kinds of issues. Rather, we will continue and expand successfully established programs while at the same time pursuing innovation. We have a platform that realistically outlines our goals But we cannot pretend that platforms make programs -people make programs. The Fusion Party 221 So. 13th E. & 4th So. & 9th E. J$Rn FOOTLONGS |
