The director of the auditorium where the concert was held said he found the area strewn with wine bottles and marijuana "baggies" after the show. Students had already paid for a series of concerts through activities ac-tivities fees, and now many students are demanding a refund. It does not appear forthcoming. The administration has set up a committee to determine what a "rock band is, and all "rock concerts for the remainder of the quarter will be cancelled. Kent, Ohio (CPS)-More than 9,000 Kent State University students have signed a petition asking for a federal grand jury investigation into the deaths of the four students killed while demonstrating against the invasion in-vasion of Cambodia. The petition asks President Nixon to overrule Attorney General John Mitchell, who said last August 13 there should be no investigation of the May 4, 1970 incident. (CPA)-A 12 year old St. Paul, Minn, girl who has been swimming swim-ming competitively since she was 7, has filed a complaint with the St. Paul Human Rights Commission Com-mission claiming she is barred from junior high swimming competition because she is a girl. The Minnesota State High School League rules limit inter-scholastic sports to boys. According to league official, Kermit Anderson, "It could be discouraging for boys to be beaten by girls." Washington, D.C. (CPS)-The nation's two membership associations for state colleges and universities announced today that tuition and fees rose by an average of more than eight per cent at their member schools during the 1971-72 academic year. Over 85 percent of the 358 colleges and universities participating par-ticipating in the survey responded that they had raised charges in at least one category of student fees including tuition, required fees, room and board.
