SOS rally reviews pros, coos of R076 The ROTC progra mwas discussed in detail Thursday at a SDS sponsored rally by persons both favoring and opposing the removal of ROTC from campus. One speaker stated that "ROTC restricts academic freedom simply because of its structure. The students and the administration has no control over it." Another student brought out the point that a committee has already wrifen up a report that, if acccped by Faculty Council, '!! give control of ROTC to the College of Letters and Science. Other students wanted to have ROTC abolished to show disapproval of the Vietnamese war. Bill Wilson, member of SDS, discussed the editorial in 7'hursday's Chronicle saying that it was "full of errors and lies." Frank Erickson, member of TEAM, said that the apology that tie Chronicle recommended SDS and VANDALS should give to TEAM was not necessary. He said that their booths did not hinder the Environmental Tench-In as the editorial had said. |
