Show Dorms form open house committee An Ad Hoc Committee Thursday met to formulate a new open house policy for the residence halls. The policy will be presented to the Student Housing Policy Board. Bob Beckman, president of the Residence Halls Association (RHA) stated the committee was formed by residence hall students who want to be sure that the open-house policy reflects the desires of the majority of students. The committee plans to find out what residence hall students think about the present open-house policy, and investigate open house policies at differnet universities across the country, to determine if the present policies of the University have been too liberal or too conservative. The present policy states that open houses must be sponsored floor functions with a student advisor and a student representative in attendance. Fourty-eight hours notice must be given. Open-houses are limited from 7-10:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and from 2 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. The committee plans to draw up a new policy and present it to the Student Housing Policy Board for final confirmation. The committee has the backing of the Residence Halls Executive Council. |
