Things will light up around 8 p.m. again at the Sill House where cheerleaders cheer-leaders and fans set to shade the Sun Devils. Homecoming Pep Club; 'Bum ASU' By MIKE JACOBSEN Chronicle Sports Writer Friday we will "Burn Arizona State" at the pep rally and bonfire bon-fire on the field by the Sill Home Living Center at 8 p.m. This will be the second in a series of pep rallies ral-lies to allow the students to meet the coaches, teams, and administration. administra-tion. The first was last Friday before the BYU game where better than a thousand students were in attendance. attend-ance. At the first rally, Head Coach Mike Giddings introduced the squad, and commented that this was the best display of spirit he has seen at a Ute gathering. Co-captains Co-captains Jack Gherke, Norman Chow, Jerome Lawson, and Manny Fernandez, also said they were impressed im-pressed with the crowd, and it meant a lot to the team to be honored hon-ored this way. President James Fletcher was also in attendance to cheer and speak, and this was extremely impressive im-pressive to see him right along with the students. Now is Homecoming and Arizona State. The team was let-down after the "Y" game, but their spirit is up again. There are too many fine players on this Utah team to let one loss ruin them. They demonstrated demon-strated they could come back following fol-lowing the Wyoming game as they defeated a good Arizona squad 33-29, 33-29, and now they are convinced they can repeat their performance against Arizona State. Now is our time to show the team that we are behind them; that we're not "fair weather fans." Last rally we had over a thousand, this rally let's have over two thousand. Many alumni will be here, and this is our chance to shine; it's our opportunity to show them that the students of '67-'68 have the greatest spirit ever. Nothing helps a team more than to see a mass of people backing them, so bring all kinds of noise-makers, noise-makers, signs, and materials to burn, and let's give the Arizonans a "hotter" reception than they're used to in Tempe.
