Show Sneed; New Chief Woodrow B. Sneed, director of the University's Indian Community Action Project, was appointed Oct. 6 as the director of the University's Univer-sity's Bureau of Indian Services by the Board of Regents. A Cherokee Indian from North Carolina, Mr. Sneed has had an impressive career as legal counsel and coordinator of projects among the Indians of the Southwest. He received his Bachelor of Laws degree de-gree from Harvard University in 1984. From 1964 to 1965 he was a practicing attorney for the Navajo Tribe and during 1965-66 was director direc-tor of Field Training for the VISTA program at the University of Utah. He was named deputy director of the community action program and assumed full directorship earlier ear-lier this year. |
