Show Candidates Present Positions s The following are position statements by candidates running run-ning in the final elections. Other Oth-er candidates will present articles arti-cles in the next two days. Candidates should submit statements of approximately 100 words no later than 3 p.m. Tuesday. WALLY REICHERT Student Faculty I believe that student government govern-ment at the University is Important Im-portant and should not be considered con-sidered as "just another student committee." This is because student government, along with the administration, controls what we do to such a large extent ex-tent that we must be concerned with it. My proposals include: a faculty fac-ulty evaluation committee, follow-through of the bookstore problem, evaluating all committees com-mittees to insure diversity, Integration, In-tegration, and importance of the committee; debates, socials, and discussion sections between be-tween the students and faculty; and making government representative repre-sentative of all the students and not only a minority. I would certainly appreciate your support MARGARET LARSON Student Faculty University students are concerned con-cerned about important issues. They are worried about tuition, dorm costs, facilities and bookstore book-store prices. They are worried about academic endeavors and the student voice. Student Faculty Fa-culty Board could be instrumental instru-mental in dealing with these . issues. I urge a revision of the present concept of student government gov-ernment in relation to the students, stu-dents, the faculty and administration. admin-istration. The five planks of my platform plat-form are: (1) course evaluation by and for the students, (2) student stu-dent government-led lobby in the State Legislature to keep tuition and expenses down, (3) increased legislative power for Bookstore Advisory Board, (4) reapportionment of student-faculty boards and (5) major constitutional revisions. DAVE JUDD Public Affairs As the election draws to an end I am excited and enthusiastic enthusias-tic because I want very much to serve you next year in this new capacity. The Public Affairs Af-fairs Board will offer those elected an opportunity to pro vide a real service to the campus cam-pus community in providing a direct line of communication between the students and their elected officers. I would urge, as an initial step, a workshop where students representing the various organizations could have a chance to work with the newly elected officer to offer suggestions in strengthening the rapport between the officers and the student body at large. Through this new board we can make student government viable and significant. I am grateful for the results of the primary and would urge your continued vote of confidence. confi-dence. JEFF SWINTON Public Affairs The University is in trouble. Its image, with the public at large, with students of other colleges, and with potential , Utes of the future, must be improved. im-proved. This was the vital reason rea-son for creation of the Public Affairs Board. I plan to press for (1) More support to the organizations or-ganizations that create the public pub-lic impression of our compus, (2) more student involvement in these organizations, (3) pub- YiK licity of our progress JV Having served oa 5- J Committee of Frefc, Z net, Organization's h- visory Cabinet, V Speaker's Committee-; the licity Chairman, Her- M Committee, and seven: (W Committees, I am wiv tail problems involved, h tlen serve you. oil RAJ PATE potn ' Public Attain W The most importer . about Student Gorae n that it is represent: n students.
