Show Grapplers Fall, Draw In Saturday Twin Bill Oklahoma State's Cowboy wrestlers held Utah and tUah State to only three points in proving why they are the defending NCAA wrestling champions Saturday. The Cowboys won every match but one and held Utah to a 29-3 in the afternoon and turned around a shut out USU 26-0 in the evening of the double header. Utah pulled even in its second round, tieing Arizona State 16-16 in the second match. ASU had already fallen to the Aggies 18-12 in its first round. GEORGE SHAEFFER, Utah 130 pounder was the only survivor sur-vivor after the OSU massacre. Shaeffer also picked up a win against Arizona State as did Buddy Carter in the 137 class by forfiet, Max Reese, in the 167 pound class and heavy weight Marv Kizerian. The match was probably the greatest show of strength and ability in the history of the Einar Nielsen Fieldhouse. Next Saturday Utah will play host to Montana State witi the Frosh scheduled to go at noon and the varsity to follow immediately im-mediately at about 2:00 p.m. |
