Show Model U.N. Sets Meet For Today More than 1500 students from 70 Utah high schools will attend at-tend the tenth annual Model United Nations Assembly Friday and Saturday at the University. The vice chancellor of public affairs at the University of Denver, Den-ver, Robert S. McCollum, will be guest speaker. Mr. McCollum, prior to his University appointment in I960, was deputy administrator of the Department of State's Bureau of Security and Consular Affairs in Washington, D.C. AMONG RECENT distinctions for the vice chancellor was his 1962 appointment as state president presi-dent of the American Association Associa-tion for the United Nations. In late 1963, Mr. McCollum was selected to the Board of Directors Di-rectors for the United 'States Committee for Refugees, an independent in-dependent agency working with the U.S. government, the United Nations and voluntary overseas agencies to resettle refugees coming to this country under immigration im-migration laws. Mr. McCollum will speak at the opening session of the two-day meet which Is the oldest and largest high school Model United Nations Assembly Assem-bly in the country. The assembly Is sponsored jointly by the University Divi-i Divi-i sion of Continuing Education ' the Utah Association for the United Nations. |
