Show Need School Money? Is anybody interested in a scholarship? If someone comes from Dumas, has a mother who is a direct descendant of Betsy Ross, has a father who achieved 33rd degree Mason, participated in sweet-pea growing contests in 4-H Club, is not and never will be a Jewish Buddhist, and will attend either the University Univer-sity of Texas Lutheran College, that person is eligible for a scholarship. Except that person must major in Re-friend Bean Technology with minor in Toilet Training and Swahili. i Stipend is $38.75 for the first year and $19.95 for each subsequent year, up to three, not counting summers. sum-mers. Of course, there is no such scholarship. But some of them don't miss far. We would like to see scholarship money donated on a wider scale, going to categories like "student who wants to go to college" or "person interested in an education." Or possibly money donated to a student loan fund, from which loans could be easily gotten, repayable re-payable when possible, interest rate optional. We definitely appreciate donated money, and appreciate donors investing in the future of Texas. But some of the money could be put to better use than it currently is. Daily Texan |
