Show Kappas Take Snow Carnival Sweepstakes I : t , . j ! i s I Chi 0's5 Sigma Chi's Win Sculpture Honors Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority walked off with this year's Snow Carnival honors by capturing the Sweepstakes trophy. The announcement was made by Snow Carnival chairman Steve Evans at the dance Saturday night. The three divisions in which campus groups participated were skiing, snow sculpture and Snow Carnival royalty. Alpha Chi Omega and 'Sigma Chi grabbed first 1 place in the snow sculpture category with their in-I in-I terpretation of Rip Van Winkle. All snow carving i entries were centered around fairy tale figures. Second Sec-ond place went to Kappa Kappa Gamma and Sigma Nu with Delt Phi Kappa placing third. THE WOMEN'S division of the ski racing com-x com-x petition was won by Kappa Kappa Gamma. Alpha Chi Omega and Pi Beta Phi followed in close pursuit with a second and third place, respectively. An independent group, who called themselves the EMC Squares, garnered first place honors in j the men's ski competition at Solitude. Sigma Nu and Sigma Alpha Epsilon ran second and third. i Three Chi Omegas filled the royalty posi- tions which reigned over the 1964 Snow Carnival ; festivities.
