Show Scanning The World Two Die As Tanker Sinks COMPILED FROM ASSOCIATED PRESS BOSTON A Librarian tanker with a crew of 36 and a load of crude oil broke in two in the North Atlantic Sunday. The Canadian destroyer Athabaskan picked up 34 survivors but two others died, one after he had been rescued. No immediate identification was available. The tanker ws the Amphialos, built in Norfolk, Va., in 1949. WASHINGTON Stringent security precautions imposed during President Johnson's lC-hour Florida visit reportedly were prompted by a tip that a Cuban suicide pilot would try to ram the chief executive's jet transport. No official in Washington Friday night would confirm that such was the case, but a number of virtually unprecedented protective moves taken during Johnson's trip, which ended Friday morning, fit the pattern pat-tern of a suicide mission if indeed one was planned. WASHINGTON The Commerce Department snapped a checkrein Friday on negotiations for sale of $2 million worth of American lard to the Cuban government. The department added lard to the list of U.S. commodities which cannot be shipped to the Communist-ruled island of Fidel Castro without with-out a government export license. Such an action was demanded by Sen. Kenneth B. Keating, (R-N.Y.), after word of the proposed deal became public. DALLAS A 10th juror was added Friday to the panel that will try Jack Ruby for the slaying of Lee Harvey Oswald, accused of assasi-nating assasi-nating President Kennedy last November. Only two more seats remain to be filled before trial testimony gets under way. Under Texas law, only 12 jurors are sworn. There are no alternates as there are in most states.
