Show 4-Hers Enjoy Kents Lake Camp By Julie Ann Farrer A group of 206 boys and girls from Beaver County 4-H Clubs met at Kents Lake, August 8, 9 and 10, for their annual 4-H encampment. All camps were registered by 3 o'clock Wednesday, and at 4 o'clock an election of camp officers was held. The following follow-ing were chosen: Mayor, Edith Yardley, Beaver; Beav-er; secretary, Arleen Morgan, Beaver; scribe, Julie Ann Farrer, Far-rer, Beaver. Program committee Sylvia Yardley, Beaver, chairman; Carol Car-ol Sue Yardley, Milford; Jean Eyre, Minersville. Clean Camp committee Linda Carter, Beaver, chairman; chair-man; Judy Horton, Milford; Marilyn Moore, Milford. Recreation committer County Coun-ty Cut-Up club. Flag - raising committee Rowland Yardley, Beaver; Bryant Bry-ant Sherwood, Milford; Cliff Yardley, Beaver. Campfire committee Neil Atkin, Beaver, chairman; JoAnn Mayer, Milford; Larry Paice, Milford. Log-sawing Contest committee commit-tee Boys Club of South Milford, Mil-ford, Sonny Briscoe, leader. A campfire program was held Wednesday evening. Thursday morning all were up bright and early for a hike to Upper Kents, where a chuck-wagon chuck-wagon breakfast was served by county leaders. This began a busy day with handicraft activities in the afternoon aft-ernoon and a campfire program in the evening, complete1 with skits and candlelight ceremony. Friday's features included a i log-sawing contest and 4-H awards program. Awards were ' given for clean camp, activity attendance while at camp, and log sawing. Two o'clock Friday arrived i much too soon, when our en-j en-j campment was over for another year. We parted as a group of ; tired, dirty, but happy 4-Hers ! looking forward eagerly to our 1 next county activity. |
