Show This Week In MINERSVILLE By Mrs. Albateen Roberls Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pryor are driving a beautiful new auto. Frank and son Howard drove to Las Vegas to attend the fights on Monday night, and do a little fishing if weather permits. Mrs. Pryor stayed home to take care of the store. We are still having fall weather here on the first of May. Hope to soon put gardens gar-dens in, but as yet it is loo cold. Norman Banks and Jewel Wilcock of Milford spent, the week end in Ely, Nev. , About noon Sunday we had a fire alarm, and everyone was quite apprehensive, with t- . strong wind blowing. Warren Hall's wood pile caught fire, irom smoldering embers from a trash fire lighted the day before. be-fore. - All ol us should be very careful with trash fires. Mr. and Mrs. Julie Gillins, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Jameson and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wood attended Temple sessions in Manti Saturday. They will visit with all relatives rela-tives here, the William and Hannah Corbridge family, Etta Rollins, Ella Wood, Alverta Robinson and Clarence Corbridge. Cor-bridge. Mrs. Arbiteen Davis has been in Milford the past three week-, 'iceiv'nj medical care. Her daughter, Dixie, and son, Jack, reside in Milford. Val has been stationed sta-tioned in England the past two I years with Uncle Sam, but has been fortunate tc have had his .amily with lrm. Everyone will welcome them home. Matthews. We have received word that Thomas Gay Myers, grandson of Ed and Rachel Myers, has been called to the presidency of Las Vegas Stake. He has been president of Moapa Stake ! ior several years. Gay is the ;'on of Tom and Doris Thornton Myers, who were burned with fcur of their children in a gas explosion a few years ago. He is the father of six children, has filled a Mormon mission, served for Uncle Sam, is helping help-ing now with the erection of the largest church building to be erected in Las Vegas, Nev., which will cost $400,000. He has been a father and mother to his three sisters, who were left orphans after the fire. Mr. and Mrs. Robin Marqison and his mother, of Greenville, motored to Magill, Nev., Saturday Sat-urday to visit relatives. They reside in the John Turley home. Mrs. Lloyd Mathews made a trip to Salt Lake again this week to see her son Dale, who underwent a foot operation after falling on an icy step. She has returned home, and reports he is now wearing a cast. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Mar-shall Mar-shall have received word their son, Val Marshall, wife and children will board a plane in |
