Show P-TA PROGRAM FEATURES LOCAL STUDENT NUMBERS By Margaret Ann Whitlaker and Sue Rollins Featured on the February program of the Milford Parent-Teacher Parent-Teacher Association, held in the high school auditorium Mont-day, Mont-day, Feb. 28, where student numbers presented by both high school and grade students. Orion Memmott, president of the high school division, presided pre-sided at the meeting. In introducing intro-ducing the program he stated that February was the month in which a program is presented to commemorate the founding of the organization. He said that since the purpose of the Parent-Teacher Association is to serve children and youth, the joint program for this month would feature numbers to be presented by boys and girls in grade and high school. He then turned ihe program over to Mrs. Ina Norton, high : school program chairman, who spoke on the history of the P.-T. P.-T. A. since its founding in 1897, and on important projects which it has sponsored and promoted pro-moted in Milford. First student presentation was by the mixed quartet composed com-posed of high .school students, who sang two numbers. The students were Janice Lynn, Lynette Bracken, Karen Walker, Walk-er, Pal Gronning, David Griffith, Grif-fith, Vee Wadswc.rth, Clare Williams and Neal Smyth. Pat Wilcock was accompanist. Second student presentation was by Susan and Sally Williams, Wil-liams, who presented their song and dance routine titled "Sisters." "Sis-ters." Next was a piano solo by Julia Ann McWhorter, Milford sixth grader. Following this was a reading by Margaret Ann Whittaker called "Patsy Ruth Tells the Truth," which she first presented present-ed on her sixth grade assembly , program. ' The last student number was n song, "Let the Sun Shine In," by Kerril Sue Rollins, accompanied accompa-nied by her mother at the piano. Following the program cookies cook-ies and punch were served, and later a movie, "One in a Thousand." Thous-and." was shown. The movie dealt with cancer and was loaned to Milford for use in the drive now being conducted to raise funds to fight cancer. |
