Judging will be by the Legion Deer Hunt com- I mittee, and will begin Friday, i Oct. 31st, after the close of the season. . Deer will be weighed with ' head and hide on, and all four legs off at the first joint. 'The fly rod is being offered by Ray Christensen, and the cash award by the Legion Club. For the lady shooting the biggest big-gest deer, Mrs. Hughes Style . Shoppe offers a box of Berkshire Hose in a shade of the winner's choice, and Cleve's Cabinet Shop will give a $3.50 repair job on I any furniture, or $3.50 credit on i any larger job. Oddest Head The male hunter hunt-er bagging the deer with the oddest odd-est head will receive $5 in mer--handise from the White Market Mar-ket and a free half -sole job at the Wright-Way Shoe Shop. In t the ladies' division, the oddest ' head prizes are five gallons of gas from Shell Oil Co. and , a ! complete Chinese dinner for two from the Hong Kong Cafe. For bringing in the deer with the most points (all points on j both sides to be counted except brow points), the man will receive re-ceive a valuable fishing reel from Sam's Furniture, and a free j haircut at Dick Banks Barber , Shop. The lady shooting the deer with most points will re- ! ceive a sack of No. 1 Milford I Valley spuds from Potato Mar-1 keting Co. and five gallons of i gas from Bob Tomsik's Service , Garage. The man bagging the deer j with the widest spread of horns . gets a case of beer from Claude , Horton, and the lady with the widest spread will receive a i Dazey Vacumatic can opener from Tri-State Lumber Co. Final classification is the i small-est deer with horns, and j Babe Ruth at the B & J Club j offers $5 in merchandise to the male hunter, and Marj Schramm of Schramm's Service will give I five gallonsof gas to the lady shooting the smallest deer with horns. Registrations for the prizes are i being made at the Legion Club, , and a registrar will be on hand J at the Legion's Deer Huners Ball to be staged Saturday night I at Arion Hall. A large tent and j Deer Hunters Camp will be set . up near the hall, and a bonfire of crossties and cedar will keep j the ears and toes of the dancers warm when they step outside for chili and coffee. There will be no charge for registration, but all hunters participating in the prize awards must be registered with the Legion not later than midnight Sunday night. Dance tickets are available at the Legion Club or from individ- ( ual Legionnaires, and will be , sold at the door Saturday night. All Legionnaires having unsold tickets are requested to check them in to Gordon Murdock by 6 p. m. Friday. |
