Show MILFORD MARCHING BAND THRILLS LOCAL HEARERS IN TWO APPEARANCES CONCERT SCHEDULED AT HIGH SCHOOL ' THURSDAY EVENING On Wednesday and Thursday evenings, the Milford High j School Marching Band performed per-formed on Main Street for the school patrons and citizens, and in addition to paying a variety of peppy marches and band ar-j ar-j rangements of popular music, executed intricate maneuvers j with commendable precision. As the band marched back up High School Hill ech evening after the downtown performance, admiring carloads of residents . trailed them to hear the final I toots from their instruments, and congratulate the youngsters and their instructor, Jerrald J. McDermott, on the fine performances. per-formances. The 1952 High School Band will be a credit to Milford wherever wher-ever and whenever it appears, j and Mr. McDermott is to be highly commended for his excel-I excel-I lent development of these fine young musicians. The band will present a concert con-cert of classical and popular numbers at the high school auditorium audi-torium Thursday evening, and the chorus will sing several numbers. A small admission fee is being charged to help defray expenses of the band on trips to play in other parts of the state. On Saturday both band and chorus will participate in the Music Festival at Beaver, which will begin with a concert at 9:30 a. m., and continue thru the chorus presentations, with Milford Mil-ford appearing at 1:20 p. m., and the competitive marching of all bands at 4:15 p. m. |
