Those enjoying the j games and Easter eg-g coloring were Susan and Sally Williams, I Kay Gribble, Susan McCulley, Jeanette Bietz, and the guest of j honor. j Dorothy Acklin and Joyce i Bietz supervised the games, after aft-er which Mrs. Shingleton treated the girls to malts at the malt shop. ST. FRANCIS Chapel of the Mission Inn was the scene of the wedding of Aileen Persons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Persons of Milford, and Robert F. Green, son of Rev. and Mrs. Robert L. Green of Sulphur, La. Vows were exchanged at 5:30 o'clock before the golden altar which was banked with palms and candelabra. Rev. William Barlow, retired Baptist minister, officiated. The bride, attired in a floor-length floor-length gown of white satin trimmed with lace, and halo of orange blossoms and net, was escorted to the altar by her father. She carried a white orchid on top of a white Bible, with streamers of stephanotis. Miss Lenna Kouns was maid of honor.. She wore an aqua gown and carried a colonial bouquei. Serving the bridegroom as best man was Melvin Persons, brother of the bride, and ushers were George Mosher, cousin of the bride, and Richard Caffrey. A reception followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Mosher, uncle and aunt of the bride. The house was decorated with white" camelias and ihe wedding cake, topped by a miniature min-iature bride and groom, was encircled en-circled with white camelias and fern. Kesler, became the bride of Mr. Douglas S. Bolton, Bol-ton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley S. Bolton. The ceremony was performed by Bishop Richard Jones at the home of the bride's parents, Thursday, April 10. The bride wore a gown of powder blue net over crisp taffeta. taf-feta. The dress was styled with a fitted pleated bodice with a strapless neckline and a three-tier- skirt. The finger tip veil with matching net was adorned with seed pearls in a star design. de-sign. The bride's bouquet was of red roses and white carnations. carna-tions. Miss Priscilla Kesler, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, wearing a blue satin formal and a corsage of pink roses. Miss Marlys Gillins, the bridesmaid, chose a. pink satin for her gown and wore a corsage of pink roses. Mr. Dan Thomas of Beaver acted as best man. A reception was held immediately imme-diately after the wedding. In the receiving line were the newly-weds, newly-weds, Mr. and Mrs. Bolton, Mr. and Mrs. Kesler, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Barton, Mr. Dan Thomas, Miss Kesler and Miss Gillins. A program was given, with the following fol-lowing taking part: Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Riley, Mrs. Alice Swindle-hurst, Swindle-hurst, Mrs. Josephine Killam, Mr. Dan Thomas, Mr. Eldon , Thomas, Karen Archer, Zelda Merryweather, and Lois Fowies. Mrs. Vera Bond was mistress of ceremonies. After the program, the remainder re-mainder of the evening was spent dancing, with Jake Schow, Glen Casterline and Marion' Barnes furnishing the music. Miss Betty Brake served the cake and punch. Miss Jean Stickles of Merced, Cal., cousin of the bride, circulated the guest book. For her daughter's wedd'ng Mrs. Persons chose a champagne colored lace dress with pink accessories. ac-cessories. She wore a pink camelia corsage. To leave on their honeymoon trip up the coast the new Mrs. Green donned a suit of gray wool white navy and white accessories, ac-cessories, and her orchid cor sage. The bride is a graduate of Chaffey high school and Junior College, and after graduation she attended San Jose State College. She is now teaching in the Monterrey schools. Mr. Green is a graduate of Shelby, N. C, high school, and attended attend-ed Louisiana College. He is now stationed at Fort Ord, Cal. J The newlyweds will make their home in Pacific Grove. j THE E S A Alpha Delta Chapter Chap-ter held their monthly meeting at hte home of Juanita Gleason. This meeting was a model meeting meet-ing to introduce into the sorority j three new pledges, LaRue Var-ley, Var-ley, Hilda Smith and Doris Gus-tavson. Gus-tavson. They will be honored at an afternoon tea to be held April 20th at the home of Garnet Gar-net Garfield. I The hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Gleason and Beth Leffingwell, who gave talks on "Our Speech." After the business bus-iness meeting refreshments were served to Rosemary Davie, . A- most delightful evening of visiting and games was enjoyed, after which ice cream and cake were served to Mr. and Mrs. Karl Stott, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Bartholomew, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Brady, Mr. and , Mrs. John Christiansen and Mr. j Jesse Long. i COMPLIMENTARY to Mrs. Floyd Worthen, who is leaving Milford for Salt Lake City, the members of her pinochle club entertained at a delightful party Friday evening at the home of Mrs. J. H. Radtke. A delicious chop suey dinner was served on a table beautifully decorated with daffodills as a centerpiece and Easter eggs dressed as dolls p'aced by each place as favors. Mrs. Worthen was presented with a going-away gift. At pinochle, prizes were won by Mrs. Worthen, Mrs. Marjorie Horton, Mrs. Vera Beitz and Mrs. LaVera Meeker. Other ladies present were the hostess, Mrs. Radtke; Dorothy Gale, Lesa Acklin, Alice Baxter and Ann Bird. - I I MRS. FONDA MAGILL en- j tertained her bridge club last ! Thursday evening. Mrs. Loretta j Cline, Mrs. Jeanette Kohler and ' Mrs. Mildred Coon received the prizes. Other guests were Mrs. Elaine Archer, Mrs. Kate McDonald, Mrs. Eva Stonehocker and Mrs. Hilda Smith. THE LADY TRAINMEN held their regular monthly meeting Monday evening at the St. Bridget's Brid-get's Recreation hall, with Mrs. Toni Uffens, Mrs. Norma Yount, Mrs. Melba White and Mrs. Mabel Ma-bel Westergard acting as hostesses. host-esses. Bridge was played, and Mrs. Cleo Labrum, Mrs. Mary Gribble and Mrs. Ina Norton received re-ceived the prizes. Other members included Mrs. Eva Stonehocker, Mrs. Helen Leech, Mrs. Lottie Gronning, Mrs. Maude Crane, Mrs. Bobbie James, Mrs. Norma Yount, Mrs. Phyllis Keetch and Mrs. Helen Bracken. A salad course was served after the game of cards. MR. AND MRS. SAM CLINE entertained the cousins of Elwood El-wood Jefferson during their recent re-cent visit in Milford. The honored hon-ored visitors were Lt. and Mrs. Phil Sweet of San Diego , and Mrs. Ray Grigley of Sandon, Idaho. Other guests enjoying the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Jefferson, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cline, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Grimshaw and Mr and Mrs. George Jefferson. Mrs. Don Campbell and Mrs. Myron Persons were initiated into Milford Victory Rebekah lodge Wednesday evening. |
