The "Come to M I A" 'night staged Tuesday by that organization organi-zation was a huge success, as many of the townspeople turned out to offer their support. A program was given depicting the functions of the different classes. Those taking part were Bishop Ruben Dotson, Wayne Mathews, Loretta Banks, M'lton Mbrecht and Lillian McKnight. Following the program the congregation gathered in the recreation hall, where Mrs. Ileen Gray and Mrs. Lynnea Marshall brought out the good and bad points of public speaking. Mrs. Melba Baker led the group in novelty singing numbers followed fol-lowed by group and square dancing conducted by Mrs. Mc Knight. Stake officers present were Arthur Low and Mrs Grant Esplin of Beaver. I j Relief Society was held Teus-I Teus-I day, with Counselor Vivian Marshall conducting the serv-, serv-, ices. The literary lesson, on the ' life of Robert Burns, was given by Mrs. Shirley Hollingshead. President Wood announced the organization now has extended I a baby tending service to all mothers with children desiring to attend Relief Society. Mrs. Betty Marshall will supervise this function. Mrs. Lucy Williams has an nounced that Minersville resi, dents desiring to give blood for use on the Korean battlefield shouM plan to be in Cedar City on Jan. 29, 30 or 31, between 10 a. m. and 8 p. m. A Union Pacific Pa-cific railroad car, especially equipped for blood donor serv ice, will be in Cedar City on those dates. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Gressman were hosts at a dinner party Tuesday evening, the occasion being the birth dates of Mrs. Mrs. June eParson and Mrs. Phyllis Truman visited MIA services in Beaver on Tuesday evening. Mr. . Cy Bradfield suffered a severe stroke at his residence on Sunday evening, and is now confined to the Milford Hos-p.'tal. Hos-p.'tal. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Eyre are spending several days in Cedar City with a sister, Mrs. Vella Stephenson, who returned Tuesday Tues-day from a Salt Lake hospital after undergoing surgery. Also a patient at the Milford Hospital is H. C. Eyre, who has been seriously ill but is now greatly improved. The thoughts of his many friends are with him. Petite Debra Ann Gillins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gillins, celebrated her first birthday on Jan. 19th. A family dinner was given in her honor, to which the following guests 'were invited: Mr. and Mrs. Al ton Black, Mr. and Mrs. Ty Gillins Gil-lins and Mrs. Alba Gillins. Mr. and Mrs. Jule Gillins left Wednesday for Wyoming, where they will meet their son Harold, Har-old, who has completed a mission mis-sion for the L D S Church. The Gillins' expect to be home th's week-end. |
