ALMA SLY Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barnes; Marlys Gillins, Bonnie Lund, J o n e 1 Baxter and Vanda O'Leary attended the Stake MIA Apron and Overall dance at Minersville last Tuesday, and had a very good time. MIA preparation meeting was held at the home of Shir-leen Shir-leen Barnes, Aug. 23. Those attending at-tending were Vera Bond, Afton Nielsen, Maurine Miller, La-Priel La-Priel Banks, Margaret Lund, Alma Sly and Gilva Myers. Many plans were discussed for coming events. Shirleen served a light snack to those present. The Junior Gleaners will enjoy en-joy a swimming party Wednes-I Wednes-I day afternoon, along with ' teachers Alma Sly and Delia Glenn. The bishopric wishes to thank each and every one who prepared pre-pared luncheon for out-of-town ; people attending Stake Quarter-1 ; ly Conference here last Sunday, i lt was greatly appreciated. ' i Wednesday evening Gilva Myers and girls of the Mia-Maids, Mia-Maids, and Wednesday afternoon after-noon Vera Bond and girls of the Bee Hive of the MI A enjoyed a swimming party, and a lunch' served afterwards. The MIA Sunday evening was represented by the Stake. Don Webb, president of Stake M-Men, was in charge and he in ' turn turned the meeting over to John Christiansen. Mr. Christiansen Chris-tiansen introduced a panel discussion dis-cussion on the MIA theme for this year. Those participating were D. J. Smith, Karl Farns-worth, Farns-worth, Florine Sherral and , Hettie Harris. Opening prayer was by Gael Elmer, and bene-" bene-" diction by Orin Loveland. |
