Show Society - Clubs Mrs. Palricia Williams. Editor Phone 150 THE AMERICAN LEGIAN Auxiliary was honored with a visit last week from the Department Depart-ment President. Mrs. Harry ! Farrington, and the Second Vice President, Mrs. Roy Kil-foyle. Kil-foyle. Both ladies gave much timely information degarding present national conditions. The theme of Mrs. Farring-ton's Farring-ton's talk was Communism and Communist Tactics in our Country Coun-try at the Present Time." Mrs. Kilfoyle, the Civil Defense De-fense chairman, talked on home defense and advised that we make plans in our community to organize for defense. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Ethel Nielsen, assisted as-sisted by Mrs. Madge Thompson, Thomp-son, Mrs. Letha Smyth and Mrs. Evelyn Brannon. A banquet table was covered with a lace table cloth and a beautiful centerpiece cen-terpiece of cut flowers. Other tables were likewise decorated. A lovely hot plate was served to the members present. The cut flowers were presented to Mrs. Lucille Raines, past president pres-ident of the V F W, who has been a hospital patient. The evening , wis spent in dancing and card nhvintr. aflcr which eakc and coffee were served. Margaret Lvman Noble Grand, and Ber-tlia Ber-tlia Co'ttrcll were in charge of refreshments. JANICE MILLER, daughter 0f Mr and Mrs. Jack Miller, had a birthday party on March 26, observing her 12th anniversary. Friends wishing her a happy birthday were Arlene Tanner, CarlineGronning, Jerry Berger, Ethel Cook, Gale Edwads, Judy Baxter and Jolaine Archer, and sister Karen and cousin Stanford Stan-ford Jensen. At cootie, Jolaine and Gale received the prizes. Delicious refreshments were served. IT WAS A lovely birthday party for Sue Ann Thompson, 9-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Thompson. Friends attending Sue Ann's party were Sally Williams, Connie Hol-brook, Hol-brook, Doris Clements, Terry Fisher, Susan McCulley and Marlene Moore. Susan won the prize for pinning pin-ning the donkey's tail, and Grace won the lucky number. After the games Mrs. sThomp-son sThomp-son served cake and ice cream. |
