Show Society - Clubs Mrs. Patricia Williams, Editor Phone 150 I AN INTERESTING AFTERNOON AFTER-NOON was .spent at the home of Mrs. Letha Smythe Monday. The Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their regular monthly meeting, Mrs. Wanda Holm, 1 vice-captain, presiding. The lesson, "Early Trappers and Pioneer Trails," was given by Emma Smi'h. The lesson told of the early trappers in Utah, one Fremont, who came to Beaver County and of whom the trail south of Beaver was , named Fremont Pass. Other business was discussed before adjournment. Mrs. Smythe was assisted by Mrs. Edna Baker, who served a dainty ice box dessert to the 12 members present. HOSTESS at p.noehle on Feb. 5th was Mrs. Jerry Mem-mo. Mem-mo. t, who entertained at the home of Mrs. Barbara McGinn. Prizes were received by Mrs. Lois Mollis and Mrs. Beverly Davis. Other members present were Mrs. Helen Banks and a guest, Mrs. Becky Price. Refreshments were served before cards. !'RS. TON! Ina Norton. j A BABY SHOWER was given ! in honor of Mrs. Shirlene 1 Barnes on Thursday, Feb. 8th, j at the home of Mrs. Jones, with ! Mrs. Barbara Jones and Mrs. Nona Gillins as co-hostesses. Those present were Mrs. Janet Root, Mrs. LaRee Hollis, Mrs. Beatrice Spainhower, Mrs. LaDawn Frazier. Mrs. Beverly Bozarth, Mrs. Ramona Smith, Mrs. Mary Albrecht, Mrs. La-Rae La-Rae Williams, Mrs. Mary Lou Myers, Mrs. Lena Morris, Mrs. Helen Gillins, Mrs. Florence Barnes, Mrs. Maude Stoker, Mrs. Thelma Gillins, Mrs. Nora Wrigh', Mrs. Billie Stoker, Mrs. Bonnie Williams, Mrs. Afton Nielsen, Mrs. May Carter, Mrs. Shirlene Barnes, Mrs. Barbara Jones, Miss Jeanette Gill ns, Miss Joanne Barnes, Miss Mar-lys Mar-lys Gillins. Monte Carlo whist was played with prizes being won by Billie Stoker, Beatrice Spainhower and Beverly Bozarth. THE LADY FIREMEN held their annual installation party on Tuesday, Feb. 13th. Dancing Danc-ing was enjoyed in the I O O F hall, after which a delicious buffet luncheon was served by the committee, Mrs. Mildred Coon, Mrs. Margaret Lund, Mrs. Wilma Weston, Mrs. Lucille Raines, Mrs. Lorana Swindle-hurst Swindle-hurst and Mrs. Audrey Skilli-corn. A WELL ARRANGED get-to- pother was held at the home of Mrs" Sam Cline, last Mondv.y evening, attended by Past Presidents Pres-idents of the American Legion Auxiliary. A delicious dinner was served to the ladies, with Valentine motif carried out in the decorations. Enjoying the evening were Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs. F. A. Bingham, Mrs. J. II. Weston, Mrs. Powell Smythe, Mrs. William Wil-liam Baker, Mrs. J. M. Hughes, Mrs. Jim Smithson and Mrs. Owen Smith. Bridge was the evening's entertainment, en-tertainment, with Mrs. Weston, and Mrs. Smythe receiving the prizes. Mrs. Hughes was awarded award-ed the door prize. |
