Show CITY FATHERS RAISE PAY FOR CITY EMPLOYEES Advertising Milford in the ,1951 Ely, Nev., tourist booklet; equalizing auto garage license (fees, purchase of the Milford hospital, increasing beer license and ra'sing city employees' salaries sal-aries all combined to furnish a busy session for he City Council Coun-cil Tuesday evening, meeting in postponed session. Wynaught, representing the Milrord Lions Club, explained ex-plained the Ely advertising booklet, which will be disirib-uted disirib-uted over the entire nation to tourists planning trips to the area. The Beaver County Commission, Com-mission, Beaver City and Milford Mil-ford Ci'y combined in appropriating appropri-ating $200 for a full page advertisement ad-vertisement and a full page of descriptive material. Milford City appropriated $50 toward cost of the advertisement. L;cense fees for garages furnishing fur-nishing only auto storage and offering no other services was set at $30 per year. Dr. Eugene Davie met with he council to discuss ways to transfer ownership of the Milford Mil-ford hospital to the city or some other group. He offered to sell the hospital to such a group "at a very reasonable price." As cities of the third class have no authority to levy taxes for operation of hospitals, Dr. Davie's proposal was referred Lo the Beaver County Commission. Commis-sion. The question of increasing Class A and Class B beer licenses li-censes was discussed, and the City Recorder instructed to obtain ob-tain further information on license rates from the Utah Municipal League. City employees' salaries was discussed, and all councilman realizing the increase in cost of living, approved a motion by Councilman Horton that all such salaries be increased $25 per month. The salaries for the employees, including the $25 increases, in-creases, will be: Wa'ermaster, $225 per month; day and ninht marshals, $225; garageman, $225; street and parks maintenance main-tenance man, $225; and recorder, record-er, $225. |
