A large crowd attended the wedding reception Tuesday evening eve-ning in Beaver First-Tthird Ward amusement hall for Mr. and Mrs. .Howard W. Brad-Bradshaw, Brad-Bradshaw, who were married Monday evening in the Manti L D S Temple. Mrs. Bradshaw was the former for-mer LaVern Beaumont, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. .and Mrs. Clifton Beaumont. Mr. Bradshaw is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Bradshaw Brad-shaw of Manderfield. Wendell S. White was master of ceremonies. A wedding of interest to many Beaver county people was that of Miss Joann Hutchings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. War-i War-i en Hutchings, and Conrad Grimshaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Grimshaw. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple, August 10. A wedding reception was given in honor of the young couple Wednesday evening in the First-Third Ward chapel. Donald Baldwin was master of ceremonies. Beaver L D S Stake Youth Conference has been announced for August 26 and 27, in the First-Third Ward Chapel. Beaver Third Ward Relief Society, So-ciety, under direction of Mrs Kathleen Farnsworth, presV mcmber of the U S Labor Board at Washington, D. C. Mr. Mur-dock Mur-dock gave a very interesting report on the duties of the labor board, stating that it was similar sim-ilar to a Supreme Court acting on labor problems. He expressed concern for the critical condition the world is in today, and touched on the loyalty of the Mormon Pioneers Pio-neers in answering the call for the famous Mormon Battalion and of the continued loyalty of I he church to the government at all times. Mrs. Merle Gillins of Miners-ville Miners-ville spent Sunday and Monday at the home of her mother, Mrs Vie Black. ' i Beaver and Minersville town teams played on the Beaver diamond Sunday, with the game end'ng 15 to 3 in favor of Beaver. Beav-er. Nelson Spafford pitched for Beaver, and Albrecht and W. Gillins for Minersville. Mrs. Annie E. Joseph of Beaver has received word that her son, Thomas L. Joseph, pro fessor of metallurgy at the University Uni-versity of Minnesota, and his wife and two sons, Thomas and Robert, left New York by plane Tuesday for a trip to Sweden, , where Mr. Joseph is scheduled j to attend a convention of Metallurgists. While in Europe they plan to visit many important points and will spend considerable time in London, the birthplace of Mr. Joseph's grandparents, the late Thomas and Ann Houghton Gunn of Adamsville. Mr. Joseph is a former resident resi-dent of Beaver. He is a graduate grad-uate of the old Murdock Academy, Acad-emy, and the University of Utah. His wife is the former Ruth Walters of Tooele. Miss Betty Easton, employe of the local bank, and Helen Patterson, employe of the telephone tele-phone company, are spending a vacation in Denver, Colo. Miss Nell Thomas has recently recent-ly returned from an extended trip into Idaho and California, Attorney and Mrs. George A. dent, will hold an outing at Punderosa Park, Saturday evening, eve-ning, for all members and their partners and the ward bishopric. Beaver City will honor the National Guard boys and all . 'Other soldiers who are leaving for active duty in the near fu-ture, fu-ture, with a community party scheduled for August 24 in the city park. The Lions Club, city officials, offi-cials, American Legion and all other civic and church organizations organi-zations will cooperate to put on the entertainment, which will consist of a free banquet for all the soldiers and their partners, to be served in front of the Daughters of Utah Pio-- Pio-- neers hall. A charge will be made to all others. Mayor Clarence A. Kirkham will deliver an address of welcome, wel-come, and a public address system sys-tem will broadcast the program numbers to the business section. A short meeting will be held in the Legion Hall at 9 p. m., and will be followed by a public dance. The National Guard unit, the 213th armored battalion, under command of Mitchell Tolton, Marshall Hollingshead and Le-Roy Le-Roy Puffer, is scheduled ,to leave Beaver Sept. 1st . James Riley of Beaver suffered suf-fered a broken arm and cuts and bruises about the face and hands when he was accidentally hit by a car wh;le he w, ? oa a trip to Idaho.
