Show JOHN A. ROOT LAID TO REST IN BEAVER Funeral services were held last Friday for John A. Root, Utah pioneer and former Milford Mil-ford resident who died Monday, Mon-day, July 3, in a Salt Lake hospital. hos-pital. The services in the Milford Mil-ford L D S Chapel were under the direction of Second Ward Bishop Carlyle Gronning. After preliminary muslc 6 ladies quartet, Mrs. Loretta Cline, Mrs. Josephine Killam, Mrs. Faye Berger and Mrs. Emma Griffiths, sang "In the Garden," accompanied by Mrs. Gertrude Fisher. Opening prayer was by Mr. Karl C. Goodwin, followed by a talk by Mr. Rue Nielsen. Mr. Dan Ferguson sang "Abide With Me," accompanied by Mrs. Floyd Worthen. Bishop Gronning delivered an address, and Mr. Parley B. Fisher gave the closing prayer. The grave in the Mountain View Cemetery at Beaver was dedicated by Mr. Kent Morgan. Out-of-town relatives attending attend-ing the services included Mrs. Ada Stewart, Mrs. Anneal Hol-ferty, Hol-ferty, Adley Nelsson . of Poca-tello, Poca-tello, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fife Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fife, Mrs. Otto Fife, Mrs. LaVerne lEsplin, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Urie, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Leigh, !Mrs. Emily Urie, all of Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. Fred McKay, Mc-Kay, son-in-law and daughter of Mr. Root and a son, Mr. J. C. Root, of Salt Lake City. |
