Show vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Eyre and Dorothy, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Eyre; Mr. and Mrs. Truman Bradeld, Renee and Mary Lue, and Mr. and Mrs. Sy Bradfield returned Wednesday from the Roberts family reunion re-union in Lyman, Wyo. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cooley, who own a hotel in Lyman. Mrs. Cooley will be remembered as the former Elva Hall of Minersville. The party enjoyed touring thru Craig and Grand Junction, Colo., returning home via Price. tT NEWS NOTES FROM MINERSVILLE By MRS. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Marshall Mar-shall have commenced to build their new home located in the western part of town. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Stewart have purchased an automobile. Howard Heslington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alf Heslington, is in the Mission Home at Salt Lake City, preparatory to leaving leav-ing on an L D S mission to Great Britain. A farewell party is being planned for Howard as soon as he completes his training. Mr. Ed Goodwin enjoyed opening day of the fishing season sea-son with his son, Robert Goodwin Good-win of Cedar City. They visited vis-ited Duck Creek and Para-gonah Para-gonah reservoir. A surprise party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Marshall Saturday night, honoring hon-oring the birth anniversary of Mrs. Margie Thompson. Bunco was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Ross Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Murdock, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Davis, Mr. and Mrs?V Karen Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Eyre, and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Thompson. High prize was won by Ray Murdock, with consola-I consola-I tion being given to Mrs. Elinor ! Marshall. A lovely lunch was served. Mrs. Thompson received re-ceived several nice gifts. Mr. and Mrs. William Sylvester Sylves-ter and family of Bingham have been visiting Mrs. Sylvester's Sylves-ter's sister and family, Mrs. Fontella Dotson, for the past i week. While here the entire group enjoyed a trip to Bryce Canyon. Miss Patsy Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wood, attended at-tended tjie crippled children's I clinic at Beaver on Tuesday. While Miss Patsy is not crippled crip-pled she has had serious bone trouble in her leg for the" past several years. Her condition is reported as considerably improved. im-proved. ' Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Dotson and family were visitors in Cedar City on Sunday, where they visited Mrs. Dotson, sister sis-ter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Carter. The Carters, who have two other children, are parents of another, boy born last week. Neal is a son of Mrs. Paulina Carter. Commissioner Murdock, who attended a meeting at Beaver on Tuesday, reports that the equalization period is now closed. This term represents a period from May 31 to June 20th, when anyone having complaints com-plaints in regard to their property prop-erty taxation may present their case at one of the four meetings held during this period. Mrs. Howard Pryor has accompanied ac-companied her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lashua, to Seattle, Wash., for a two months' vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Lashua have been vi iting in Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Eyre and Mrs. Arlene Mecham of Cedar City were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Gray, this week. Miss Jolene Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wood, returned re-turned home Wednesday from a two weeks' vacation in Pioche. Morris Gray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Gray, is home from Salt Lake, where he has been under observation for an unknown un-known ailment. His Condition is greatly improved. Mrs. Pauline Carter is at Cedar City with her son, Neal Carter, and his wife, who have a new baby. The water has been turned out of the irrigation ditches so they can be cleaned. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Pitch-forth Pitch-forth and family, of Salt Lake, stopped in Minersville last week to leave their three children chil-dren for a short time. They were en route to Texas for a Mart Davis, Bill Wood, Elmer Marshall, Walter Pearson, Harold Har-old Baker, Victor Myers, Clinton Clin-ton Thompson, Darwiln Marshall, Mar-shall, James Davis, Jack Kel-sey, Kel-sey, Frank Carter, Charles j Craw, Delmer Gray, Cy Brad-field, Brad-field, Andy Bonn, Bill Brad-shaw, Brad-shaw, Frank Williams, Mike Kelsey, Lester Roberts, Fay Marshall and Rex Marshall. The judges awarded prizes to those whom they felt exerted the greatest effort to beautify their surroundings. It is hoped there will be no criticism, but . instead a determined effort by the families of the community f to be on the winning list nextl year. They wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who put J forth a little effort to improve ; the community. j Greatest detrimental eyesore to the community, however, is the number of vacant lots which were not improved or cleaned. It is hoped that these lots will eithei be sold next year, or improved im-proved for the benefit of the y community. Mrs. Edith Armstrong and son of Cedar City visited Thursday at the home of her j parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sim Mur-dock. Mur-dock. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rollins and family enjoyed a trip to Zions Canyon, Grand Canyon and Bryce National Park. Mrs. Martha Barton, mother of Esther, Es-ther, accompanied them on the trip, which took four days. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Dotson were In Beaver for Father's Day. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Stephenson Stephen-son of Cedar City were here to enjoy the opening of fishing season. Mrs. Gwen Davis and children chil-dren of Milford were in town i last week visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Davie. Mr. Newell (Cub) Carter is currently employed by Utah Oil Company at Cedar City, where he has been doing considerable con-siderable painting. Mr. and Mrs. Vance Roberts and family are now settled in their home in South Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Harris and family of Pioche are here visiting visit-ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Goodwin. Mrs. Alba Gillins, Mr. Hilton Gillins and son Earl, and Mr. preparatory to the selling of hay from the farming project. The Pryor family held an outing "'up the river" on Father's Fath-er's Day. Those present included includ-ed Mr. and Mrs. Dick Pryor and family, here for the occa- j sion from Ruth, Nev., Mr. and Mrs. Sim Murdock, Mrs. Bertha ' Dalton of Beaver, Mrs. I. N. Nolder, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pryor, Howard Pryor, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pryor and daugh-l ter Collette. Fried fish, baking I powder biscuits and watermelon j were highlights of the delicious luncheon. j The Primary teachers and I their husbands honored two of their group at an outing Monday Mon-day night at Hanging Rock. Mrs. Vance Roberts and Mrs, Clair Carter were the honored guests, their birthdays falling i(n the month of June. Those I present to enjoy the weiner roast and watermelon were Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Rollins, Mr. and , Mrs. Carl Banks, Mr. and Mrs. I Frank Carter, Mr. and Mrs. ! Clair Carter, Mr. Howard Pryor, Pry-or, Mrs. Ileen Gray, Mrs. LaRue ! Thompson, Mrs. Ethel Mathews, Mrs. Rachel Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Vance Roberts. The remainder of the evening was spent in old time dances at the dance pavilion. Music was furnished by two young fellows, relatives of Mrs. Marvin Gray, who were adept at playing the mandolin and guitar. Mrs. Roberts Rob-erts and Mrs. Carter received many nice gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Corbridge and child were here for the opening of fishing season and to visit Lyle's sisters and brother, broth-er, Mrs. Vivian Marshall, Mrs. Sylvia Davis and Mr. Marion Rollins. Cherry and Vivian, children of Marion, accompanied accompa-nied them for a visit with their father. Mr. and Mrs. Alden Wood-house Wood-house and children, Kathryn, John and Susan, of Kingman, Ariz., were here visiting Mrs. Woodhouse parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kelsey, and her brothers and their families. Mrs. Donna Mathews and Mrs. Louella Rollins, instructors instruct-ors of the Thimble Sewing 4-H Club, held their weekly meeting meet-ing at the home of Mrs. Rollins, Rol-lins, who demonstrated the correct cor-rect way to operate a sewijng ! machine.
