Show TRANSIENT PLANE MAKES FORCED STOP ON MILFORD PRAIRIE Four 2-place Cessna airplanes, en route rfom Ogden to Las Vegas, spent the night at the Miiiford airport last Saturday when one of the ships developed motor trouble and 'made an emergency landing on the flat prairie about 14 miles northeast of Milford. The plane was not damaged in landing and it was towed to the Milford airport by a pickup truck. Dennis Nelson, piloting the ship which developed engine trouble, brought the plane in for a perfect landing on the sagebrush sage-brush dotted prairie, and Lester Les-ter B. Morton, another pilot who ! saw the ship land, also went in to offer assistance. The other two ships im the flight notified the Milford C A A station and circled the area until a ground party headed by Ralph Peterson, Peter-son, C A A communicator arrived ar-rived at the scene. Upon arrival ar-rival of the ground party, Pilot Morton took off and flew his ship to the airport. Others on the flight were Dee Larsen, manager of the Charles-worth Charles-worth Flight Service of Ogden, owner of all four ships; Mont Chadwick, Neal Mann, Ray Cad-ler Cad-ler and Jack Sadler. |
