Show TROPHIES TO BE I AWARDED WINNING SOFTBALL TEAMS From 30 to 50 children each day are enjoying Milford's summer sum-mer recreation program, it was announced this week by Director Direct-or Perry Neal, with "increasing interest" being shown both in the afternoon program and the evening softball games. Coach Neal still needs assistance with the younger children from 2 to 4 each afternoon, and the opening open-ing for an assistant during those hours offers opportunity for 1 students who plan to follow a coaching career to obtain valuable valu-able training in .working with children. ' Six men s softball teams are competing in the evening contests, with four girls' teams I filling out the ladies' league. Trophies will be awarded winning win-ning teams in each league and winner of the men's league will represent Milford at the Cedar City softball tournament in August, Coach Neal announced. A ladies' team will be entered in the Las Vegas tournament, the coach said, but it has not yet been determined whether to enter en-ter the league champions or an all-star aggregation. Next week's softball schedule follows: Tuesday, June 27 6:30, Elders vs. All Stars. 8:00, Outlaws vs. Sportsmen's Club. 9:30, White Market vs. Janet's Cafe-La Tienda. Wednesday, June 28 7::00, Texanettes vs. Wildcats. 8:30, Hughes Hotshots vs. Red Hot Mamas. Thursday, June 29 6:30, All Stars vs. Outlaws. 8:00, White Market vs. Sportsmen's Sports-men's Club. 9:30, Elders vs. Janet's Cafe-La Cafe-La Tienda. Playground Schedule Boys and Girls up to 12 years of age will meet at the high school each afternoon for playground play-ground activities from 2 to 4 o'clock. Davis, of the Outlaw squad, had a perfect day at bat with four hits for four trips to the plate. Bob Carter and Vance Fisher, both on the Janet's-La Tienda squad, connected for homers in the free-hitting last game, and "Skinny" Waite, Sportsman's Club, also hit a four-bagger. On Wednesday , evening the Hughes Hotshots, unable to field a team because of absentees, forfeited for-feited to the Texanettes. The Wildcats lost a close one 7 to the Red Hot Mamas, 13-7.
