Mr. and Mrs. Arlen "Bud" Carter and Mr. Jeff Marshall made a trip to Spring Creek, near Logan, last week, where they purchased two registered Holstein bull calves. i Mrs. Warren Gray returned from Salt Lake City this week, where she had taken her small daughter for medical treatment. ! Mrs. "Viola Nowers and daugh- ter Leah were in Minersville visiting, on Wednesday. Mrs. Margaret Williams, and Anne .and Jimmy, are in Amer-! Amer-! ican .Fork with Mrs. Williams' sister, Mrs. Mel Williams. .Robert Gressman, son of Mrs. ; Barbara Gressman, recently underwent un-derwent a tonsillectomy at the Iron County Hospital. . The Auxiliary to the American Amer-ican Legion held a special meeting meet-ing last Monday at the home of Mrs. Elinor Marshall, in honor of the state Department President, Presi-dent, Mrs. Bott, who is visiting each unit. Mrs. Barbara Gressman, Gress-man, president, after welcoming Mrs. Bott, turned the meeting oyer to the state officer. Mrs. Bott stressed membership, member-ship, and related stories of veterans vet-erans making poppies. Mrs. Elinor Marshall, Mrs. Reva Williams, Mrs. Emily Gillins Gil-lins and Mrs. Shirley Hollings-head Hollings-head then sang a number entitled en-titled "Out of the Dusk to You." Mrs. Elinor Marshall and Mrs. Anna Rae Carter, hostesses for the occasion, served fruit salad, ice box cookies and punch. Besides the above, others oth-ers present included Mrs. Wilma Davis, Mrs. Elmer Blackburn, Mrs. Renee Eyre, Mrs. Druella Carter and Mrs. Virginia Carter. There are only a few days remaining to improve homes and surroundings in order to be eligible for prizes in the Legion Auxiliary and Town of Minersville Miners-ville home improvement contest. The Town Board, according to Mayor Gillins and Auxiliary President Barbara Gressman, has appropriated money to match prize money of the Legion Le-gion Auxiliary, making a total of $50 to be awarded in the following fol-lowing categories: Cleanest surroundings. EMILY GILLINS Mrs. Emma Walker was in Milford for a few days, bringing the good news that her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Ireta Bishop, who has been seriously ill in the Cedar City hospital, is now improving. Mrs. Walker has been in Cedar City with her daughter during her illness. Walter and Kathleen Griffiths Grif-fiths of California are here with Mrs. Griffiths' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Fothering-ham. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Carter spent the week-end in Salt Lake visiting relatives, and in Paro-wan Paro-wan visiting their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Davis. Neal Davis is attending school at the U S A C, where he will receive advanced training in artificial ar-tificial ensemination. He will be gone two weeks. Mrs. Paulina Carter is in Cedar City visiting her daughter daugh-ter and son and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Rollins and Mr. and Mrs. Neal Carter. Mrs. Hazel Young of Salt Lake City is here for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. William Gibson and Mrs. Nelda Tanner returned Sunday to their homes in Los Angeles after attending the wedding wed-ding of their brother, Garold Eyre, to the former Marybelle Murdock of Beaver, on June 2nd. Mrs. Melva Eyre of Las Vegas, another sister, also returned re-turned to her home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. James Eyre spent last week visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Col-ledge Col-ledge of Lehi, cousins of Mr. Eyre. Mr. and Mrs. Colledge accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Eyre on their return to Minersville. While here they spent a day visiting Mr. and Mrs. Donald Eyre of Panguitch. mobiles: Mr. and Mrs. Daisel Davis, a station wagon; Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rollins, a touring car, and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Thompson, a pickup. An enjoyable outing was held by former members of the "Mother's Club" and their husbands, hus-bands, at Ponderosa Park in the Beaver Mountains, last Sunday. The occasion honored Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roberts of Van Nuys, Calif, who are visiting here. Each couple present contributed con-tributed to the lunch and a delightful de-lightful reunion was enjoyed. Those present, besides the guests of honor, were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rollins, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Sim Murdock, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hall, Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hor-ace Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Her-bert C. Eyre, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Roberts ,and Mr. and Mrs. Cy Osborne of Beaver. Late arrivals who enjoyed part of the afternoon visiting were Mr. and Mrs. Andy Hol-lingshead, Hol-lingshead, Mr. and Mrs. Hay-ward Hay-ward Carter, Mrs. Hazel Young, Mrs. Edna Mecham, and Mr. and I Mrs. G. W. Carter. Mrs. I. N. Nolder and granddaughter, grand-daughter, Sandra Petty, jour neyed to Salt Lake last week to visit Mrs. Nolder's daughter, Helen Harned, who is employed em-ployed in the Capital City. Mrs. Nolder returned to her home, but Sandra remained to spend several weeks with her mother. The Lucky Clover 4-H Club met Monday at the home of their instructor, Mrs. Freida Wood. Miss Patricia Carter delivered de-livered a report on the correct procedure of ironing. Miss Marlene Baker and Miss Bonny Carter served pineapple delight to the following club members: Jolene Wood, Joy Carter, Dorothy Dor-othy Eyre, Lois and Louise Thompson, Bonnie Carter, Re-nee Re-nee Bradfield and LaNae Davis. Miss Lois Thompson and Miss Joy Carter, Dale Eyre and Dean Carter, were chosen from Minersville Min-ersville 4-H groups to attend a 4-H school held at Cedar City last week. While there they received instruction in art work and enjoyed outdoor recreation. rec-reation. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Roberts I and son Beryl left Monday morning for Salt Lake City, where Beryl will enter the mission mis-sion home for training prior to his departure for a mission in ' the Western States. Mrs. Paul Thompson, the for-, for-, mer Margene Thompson, left for Salt Lake City Saturday, where she will make her home. Miss Dorothy Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Myers, accompanied by Marsha Carter, a cousin, and Jerry Farnow, a nephew, left for Las Vegas last week. Marsha and Jerry were returning to their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pearson and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Farnow, respectively. re-spectively. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Eyre of i Panguitch were in Minersville Wednesday to attend graveside services for Eugene Singleton. The former Marybelle Murdock, Mur-dock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Murdock of Beaver, became the bride of Garold Eyre, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert C. Eyre, at Beaver in the Murdock home on June 2. The home was arranged ar-ranged with beautiful spring flowers and potted plants. Marybelle was attired in a beautiful tiered net wedding gown trimmed with lace, with a rosebud-trimmed veil which fell to her waistline. Her corsage cor-sage was of pink carnations and orchid. Matron of honor was Mrs. Virginia Vir-ginia Carter, Helen Easton was maid of honor, and the bridesmaids brides-maids were Karma Joseph, Bar-i bara Dalton, LuAnn Johnson and Carol Williams. Gerrold Eyre acted as best man and escorts es-corts were Lee Marshall, Kurt Bohn, Jeff Marshall, Beryl Roberts, and Don Carter. A lovely, dainty luncheon was served to the wedding guests. Mr. and Mrs. Mac McKenzie were gracious hosts at an outdoor out-door steak party at their temporary tem-porary home in Ranch Canyon last Saturday, evening. Guests enjoying the grilled steak and delicious lemon pie, along with the usual steak trimmings, included in-cluded Mr. and Mrs. Obra Myers, My-ers, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Brad-field, Brad-field, Mr. and Mrs. William Gibson Gib-son and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Eyre.
