With The Ladies LOCAL AND PERSONAL NEWS SOCIETY CLUBS Mr. and Mrs. Lee Erickson of Salt Lake were week-end visit- , ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ferguson. Word was received Wednesday Wednes-day that Bonnie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bradshaw, had undergone surgery at the Shrine Hospital in Salt Lake, Monday and Tuesday, and is reported re-ported to be recuperating satisfactorily. satis-factorily. . . - Hub and Anna Mae Hickman are now settled in their new home, the former Ted Price home. THE REGULAR Wednesday Evening Bridge club met on Thursday, May 11th, at the home of Garnetta Hollis. Prizes were won by Mrs. M. F. Persons, Per-sons, points; Mrs. Hollis, honors; hon-ors; Mrs. Ralph Baxter, low; Mrs. C. E. Leech, high house prize, and Mrs. Dick Jones, low house prize. Other members present Included In-cluded Mrs. S. E. Pitchforth, Mrs. Bill Morris and Mrs. Joe Ilickerson. I A LOVELY Mother's Day Tea was held at the High School Sunday, May 14th. Under direction di-rection of Mrs. Holm, members of all classes of the Junior and Senior High assisted with preparations. prep-arations. Mrs. Kimmel Coon and Mrs. Clair Gillins, assisted by Karen Archer, Roma Jean Myers, Bonnie Bon-nie Baxter and Norma Reese, were in charge of refreshments. Mrs. Wayne Lyman with Florence Flor-ence Openshaw, Shirleen Lyman Ly-man and Barbara Fothering-ham, Fothering-ham, decorated the room for the affair. Mrs. Bracken with Joan Smith, Vanda O'Leary and Ann McCulley, were in charge of the program. Mrs. Max Baxter, assisted as-sisted by Zelda Merryweather and Angie Waddoups, were in charge of invitations and receiving re-ceiving the guests. A program consisting of numbers num-bers from the school and from ; townspeople continued while punch and open-faced sandwiches sand-wiches were served. Among" those on the program were Zelda Merryweather, reading; Jerry Goodwin, sax solo; Dar-lene Dar-lene Nay, Dorothy Fisher and Vera Tomsik, vocal trio; Florence Flor-ence Openshaw, song; Afton Hollis, Hol-lis, song; Jeanette Gillins, piano solo; Janice Nelson and Karen Archer, piano duet; Margene Lofthouse, piano solo; Mrs. Ra-mona Ra-mona Smith, vocal solo, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Harold Cline; Mar Jean Whitaker, Lois Fowles and Glenda Rigby, tap dance; Lynette Bracken, song; Bonnie Baxter, song; Jonelle Baxter, Joan Barnes and Bonnie Lund, vocal trio; Mrs. Munk, reading. PINOCHLE CLUB was held Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Mary Raines. Invited guests included Dora Miller, Eloise Force and Dorothy Morris. Mor-ris. Prizes went to Beverly Davis, high, and Virginia Bedding-field, Bedding-field, low. Other members present pres-ent were Dawn Miller, Helen Banks and Barbara McGinn. Late lunch was served. THE THURSDAY Evening 500 Club met at the home of Mrs. Helen Hickman. Invited guests were Mrs. Helene Pas-1 borg and Mrs. Loreli Dawson. Prizes went to Mrs. Donna Christensen, high; Mrs. Audrey Skillicorn, second high, and Mrs. Jean Hickman, cut prize. A late lunch was served by the hostess. MRS. HARRY S. HAMILTON and Mrs. Samuel Mandel were hostesses on Friday, April 28, when they entertained with a tea in the party room of the Officers' Of-ficers' Club honoring Mrs. Hamilton's Ham-ilton's mother, Mrs. J. S. Kil-lam Kil-lam of Milford, Utah. The tea table, covered with lace, held a May basket filled with mixed flowers. Burning tapers in silver holders also adorned the table . Pouring during the afternoon were Mrs. Josh Foster, Mrs. C. D. Wright, Mrs. D. C. DeFord, Mrs. R. F. Ezzard, Mrs. Abram-son, Abram-son, Mrs. H. R. Kenaston and Mrs. C. J. Benda. Approximately 100 guests attended at-tended the tea. (Shalimar, Fla.) THE WEDNESDAY Evening Pinochle club met at the home j of Lorelei Dawson. Prizes went j to Donna Christensen, high, and Nona Perkins, traveling prize. Other members present were Audrey Skillicorn, Almeda Hol-brook, Hol-brook, Fay Berger, Ruth Lish and Fay Thompson. A late lunch was served. PINOCHLE for the regular club members was .played at the home of Mrs. Jack Bohart, Thursday. Invited guests were Mrs. Don Wisner and Mrs. Floyd Worthen. A FAREWELL PARTY in honor of Mrs. Mary Edwards was held at the home of Mrs. Isabelle Cox Thursday, May 11th. Monte Carlo Whist was played. Mrs. Edwards was given a lovely memento from her many friends. She left Saturday for Spanish Fork to make her home. Capt. and Mrs. Ward Harms and family sailed May 11th from Japan. On arrival in the U. S. they will come to Milford for a visit with Mrs. Harms' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Alberts. Al-berts. They have been in Japan for the last two years, ' i during which time they have had an addition to the family, a lovely baby girl. After their , visit here they will leave for j Texas, where Capt. Harms will be stationed. Mr. and Mrs. George Frazier of Salt Lake are visiting at the home of Mrs. Thomas Brad-field. Brad-field. 1 THURSDAY EVENING, May 11th, was the regular meeting for pinochle at the home of Mrs. Eleanor Murdock. Prizes went to Mrs. Maggie Kay, high; Doris Gustavson, second high, and Patsy Stewart, traveling prize. Other members present included in-cluded Bobbie Henkel, Pat Busch, Anna' Mae Hickman, Inez Steinfels and Claudia Peterson Pet-erson Late lunch was served. |
