Show Bryant Roberts flew in from Los Angeles .last week, to be I here for the opening of fishing season. He was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kirk Mrs. Vivian Muncey spent Thursday and Friday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lane Frazier. Mr. Elmer Davies of Burbank is receiving medical treatment at the Milford Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Farmer are in Boulder City, Nev., visiting visit-ing relatives and friends. Mr. Farmer will do some fishing in Lake Meade while there. Mrs. Lucile Raines returned to Milford Sunday after spending spend-ing a month with her relatives in Springfield, 111. She was met in Salt Lake by her son, Mr. Albert Al-bert Raines. Mr .and Mrs. Richard Nelson have as their house guests this week, friends from LaJolla, Cal., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Biesack, who are touring Utah and Idaho. j Mr. and Mrs. George K. Urie of Cedar City are visiting in the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Kaizer and Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Westergard ipent the week-end at Fish Lake. Mr. Mordell Lund is home for the summer, after completing his second year at the University of Utah. Mrs. W. J. Trimble was in Salt Lake Sunday, visiting her father, Mr. K. G. Hanney, who is a patient at the Holy Cross hospital. Mr. Hanney's condition is "just fair." Mr. and Mrs. A. Skillikorn have purchased the J. P. Halley j home. Mr. Dern Outzen arrived in i Milford Monday evening. He has been attending the University Univer-sity of Utah the past year. Mr. Neil Garfield is spending a few days visiting friends in Lehi. Mrs. Frances LaChapelle had as her house guest this week her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Willian I of Magnolia, Minn., and daughter Janice, also Miss Margaret Nees-,en. Nees-,en. They left Tuesday for a nonth's motor tour of the West 7oast and the Northwest. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jones left , 'ast week for Cedar City, where Mr. Jones has secured employment. employ-ment. Mr. Jack Weston joined a party from Cedar City and went fishing over the week-end at Navajo Lake. He reports "good fishing." Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Jensen and family of Los Angeles are visiting Mr. Jensen's sister, Mrs. Dora Casterline. Mrs. J. D. Johnston and Mrs. Vern Shingleton are spending a few days in Salt Lake with relatives rela-tives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Brunell Outzen and three children of Englewood, Calif., are visiting in the home of Mr. Outzen's mother, Mrs. Freda Outzen. Mr. Jack Kirk is home from the University of Utah. Misses Ann Marie and Mary LaMar Outzen are home for the summer, having completed the school year at the University of Utah. Mrs. LaMar Outzen motored mo-tored to Salt Lake Thursday to drive her daughters home. Mr. and Mrs. Owen R. Smith have received word that Owen Jr. will continue in summer school at the U of U and that Albert has accepted summer employment em-ployment at the New Parks Mine in Park City. Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen and Mrs. James Smithson motored to Min-ersville Min-ersville last Thursday evening to attend a meeting of the Mlners-vllle Mlners-vllle American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Nielsen presented the unit with a miniature flag set. A short social followed the meek ing, with refreshments being served by the Minersville unit. Friends of Mr. Dan James ' will be pleased to learn that h ; "much better" after several days of very serious illness. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. Mr. Joe E. Murdock spent the week-end visiting friends in Lehi. Mrs. Harry Jefferson of Boise, Idaho, has been visiting relatives and friends in Milford for the past two weeks. She returned to Boise Friday, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Bud Williams, and twin boys. She will be in Boise until her husband, who is working in Ogden, finds an apartment for his family. , Mrs. E. L. Smith and daughters, daugh-ters, Joan and Lucile, are spending spend-ing their vacation with relatives in Franklin, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Osborne Os-borne spent Sunday in BeaVer visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dern 'Os-born. 'Os-born. The party enjoyed a chicken chick-en dinner in Beaver Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cline and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cline returned re-turned Sunday evening from 'the Grand Canyon Lodge, where they attended a State Bar Association Asso-ciation convention. On the: return re-turn trip they visited Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks and Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Leland M. Cum-mings Cum-mings and daughter Maylene were house guests in the Sam Cline home. Mr. Cummings is clerk of the Utah Supreme Court. Mrs. Nora Whittaker and Miss Marion Parker of Salt Lake were house guests of Mr. and Mrs Sam Cline. Miss Ellen Carlton returned to Milford after spending two weeks in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fitch. Mrs. Wayne Christensen and daughter, Julia Ann, of Provo, are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fava Rigby . Word has been received from Mr. Boyd D. Evans, who suffered a broken leg several weeks ago and is in the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake, that his condition is improving. He expects to remain re-main in the hospital for at least two months. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Carlton Carl-ton went to Los Angeles last week, and drove Mr. Karl S. Carlton back to Milford. Mrs. Carlton stopped in Las Vegas for a few days' visit. Mr. Karl Carlton Carl-ton is 82 years of age, and returns re-turns each year to fish in Beaver Canyon. He says "there's no place in the world like Beaver Canyon for fishing. With his son Walter, he is spending the first week of fishing season at Puffer's Puf-fer's Lake. Mr. Carlton for many years edited both the Milford Mil-ford News and the Beaver Press. Miss Millicent Holbrook of Salt Lake is a house guest at the Don Holbrook home. Miss Janet Lish of Salt Lake is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Fer-rell Fer-rell Lish. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fothering-ham Fothering-ham of Springville are spending I their vacation at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hollingshead. They are enjoying "good fishing" in Beaver Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Edwards took Mrs. R. E. Edwards and daughter, Miss Gladys Edwards, to their home in Paragonah Sunday, Sun-day, after spending a few days in Milford. Mrs. R. C. Knell of Cedar City is visiting at the home of her ! son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Weston. Mr. and Mrs. LaMoine H. Lewis and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Leavitt of Ogden were house Ecicsts at the Warren Atkin home last week. |
