Show CHAMBER TO PUT STRESS ON '48 CITY PUBLICITY A "gratifying turnout," considering con-sidering the basketball game, a wedding reception, and other activities, greeted the new officers offi-cers of the Chamber of Commerce Com-merce when they called the roll at the' first regular meeting of the year Wednesday evening in the Odd Fellows Hall. President Gene Mayer conducted the get-together, get-together, with Secretary Des Hickman taking care of the paper work. Other officers, installed at a special meeting on Friday of last week, are Gordon Murdock, vice president; Vernon Burns, treasurer, treas-urer, and D. E. Kirk, Lloyd Kohl-er, Kohl-er, Larry Sullivan and Lloyd Mayer, trustees. "Advertise Milford" will be the Chamber's theme for 1948, President Mayer said in his greetings to Ihe members. "If we get on the ball and do a good job of publiciiing this area and the opportunities thai Milford Valley affords, we'll grow so fast no one will reeog-niae reeog-niae the old home town." Mr. Mayer also outlined plans for a concerted membership drive, stating that the Chamber needs and welcomes the support of every citizen of Milford. Following the short business session, a fine dutch lunch was served, with food and drink for everyone. Father Valine, Catholic priest in charge of construction for the new Catholic church here, was a guest, and Marshall Bond ol Westhaven, Calif., a charter member of the organization, paid a visit and enjoyed the repast. |
