Show Hunters switch to hunting ducks, chukars Most of Utah scattergunners have decided to switch rather than fight as the pheasant hunt proved to be slow in most counties and those areas remaining re-maining open do not off r too much promise. The switch has been to chuk-ar, chuk-ar, quail, Hungarian partridge, or to waterfowl hunting. Duck hunting continues to be good on most of the marsr-lands, marsr-lands, particularly around the east side of the Great Salt Lake and there is always the chance to bring a fat goose for the Thanksgiving table. Quail and Hungarian partridge par-tridge are found scattered in several northern counties and provide exciting wing shooting. Chukars offer the best opportunity op-portunity now for upland game bird shooting and this season will remain open through January Jan-uary 15, 1970. The Hungarian season also remains open through January 15, 1970 but the avid quail hunter hun-ter will have to do his hunting soon, as this hunt closes November No-vember 30, except for Washington Washing-ton County which will oe open through January 4, 1970. |
