Show Marie S. Roach succumbs; former resident Funeral services for Marie Roach, 56, Spanish Fork and formerly of this city, were held Wednesday in Spanish Fork with burial in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Mrs. Roach died September 28, 1969 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. She was born May 6, 1913 in Eureka, the daughter of George A. and Florence White Simkins. She married Miles B. Roach on May 29, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mrs. Roach was educated in Springville and graduated from the Springville High School and also from the Brigham Young University. She taught school for 20 years in the Springville, Dividend, Lake Shore and Spanish Fork areas. She was active in the church and had long served in ward and stake Sunday School, MIA and Primary organizations. She also took an active part in civic clubs and was a member mem-ber of the executive committee commit-tee for the Nebo Teachers Association. As-sociation. Surviving are her husband of Spanish Fork and two sons and two daughters, Richard Roach, Bonnie Roach, Elaine Roach, and Clyde Roach all of Spanish Fork; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Virginia Clegg, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Darrel (Marjorie) Berrett and Max Simkins, both of Provo. and Mrs. Morgan (Fern) Greenwood, Carmel, California. |
