Show Springville man directs choir at Austria school A colorful black-and-orange pester announcing the performance perform-ance of a Brigham Young University Uni-versity student choir at University Uni-versity of Salzburg's (Austria) famous Mozarteum has been received by Robert Taylor, BYU Travel Studies director. Students from BYU, University Univer-sity of Utah, Ricks College and Utah State University who are participating in BYU's Semester Semes-ter in Salzburg program made up the choir which presented Handel's "Messiah" April 24 in the historical hall. Singing in English, the choir was directed by Kurt Weinzing-er, Weinzing-er, professor of music at BYU, and was accompanied by the Mozarteum Academy Orchestra Orches-tra under the direction of Kurt Prestel. The choir was also featured at a big concert in Vienna, Switzerland, May 2, and returned return-ed to Salzburg for a second concert May 5. |
