Show A. E. Cox's enjoy Deep South tour Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Cox of Mapleton have just returned from a three week tour to the deep South. They went as far as Key West, Florida. Their trip took them to 14 s.tates with a total of 6400 miles covered. They saw many points of interest all along the way including where the last battle of the Civil War was fought at Atlanta, Georgia on Sept. 22, 1864. Among the interesting sights was that of seeing a shooting of a TV production at the studio stu-dio of the "Grand Ole Opry". They visited the first oldest city in the USA, St. Augustine, Florida, and they noted that the first school house there is still standing. While in that city, they saw the first Utah license, belonging to a Provo resident and whom they knew. Mr. Cox stated it would take three weeks to tell about all the sights they saw but: "Utah Valley is good enough for me." My youth may wear and waste, but it shall never rust. William Congreve |
