Show Happenings in Mapleton by Mrs. Glenn Seal Phone 489-6091 Mr. Larry Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett will be returning to Fort Gordon, Georgia, to take his AIT training train-ing with the army. He has been on a ten-day leave. Mr .and Mrs. Dean Marsh and two children from Lander Wyoming, and Robert Marsh and family from Heber, came to attend the funeral service of their brother, Richard Marsh. The Mapleton Second Ward held their ward conference this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Vance Gividen has just returned from a visit with their son, Bert, and family in California. Mrs. Alberta Banks is recuperating recu-perating at home after being confined to the Payson City Hospital for a week. Mrs. LeAnn Diamond is recuperating re-cuperating at home after her visit to the Payson City Hospital Hos-pital for an operation. Mr. Steven Wiscombe is being transferred by his company com-pany to Oklahoma, He and his family will be leaving Mapleton very shortly for Oklahoma to make their home. Mr .and Mrs. Clinton Young are back home after a summer spent in Idaho. Mrs. Young has been recovering from surgery performed while in Idaho and has been recupeating at the homes of her children. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Brinkerhoff hosted the young marrieds of the Mapleton Third LDS Ward with Ashley Graham of Springville, Spring-ville, police chief, talking on narcotics. The Mapleton Lions held their November dinner meeting last Thursday at the Wilkinson Center at Provo. Thanksgiving theme was decorated tables with President and Mrs. Lynn Bjarnson and Dr. and Mrs. Glenn T. Seal were in charge of the arrangements. The Flashbacks Flash-backs a singing group from the Sweet Adalines of Provo sang several numbers. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Larson and daughter, Gay and grandson, grand-son, have just returned from a 17-day trip to Rockwell, Conn, to see their son, Wilson. They also went to New York, Washington, D.C., and saw many interesting scenic places along the way. This was the first time the Larsons had been East. Mrs. Lynn Bjarnson and daughter, Dianna, left Saturday for the Hawaian Islands. They will be joined by Dianna's husband, hus-band, who will meet them there. Mr. Gessel is on leave from Vietnam for a rest. He is in radio and communications. They will be gone about 10 days, going both ways by air. Brad Bluth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Bluth liked his crutches so much from the last broken foot that he decided to break it again in his gym class at the Springville High School last week. Good luck Brad. A youth banquet was held in the ward cultural hall for members 12 and over of the Mapleton Third LDS Ward. Arrangements were made by Dick Bills, Terry Young, Roger Hatchings, Mrs. John Bleggi, Mrs. Hal Brinkerhoff and Mrs. Ronald Graves all of Mapleton. Mrs. Martha Houtz has had as house guests, her daughter, LaVetta, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Gregerson and family of California. Cal-ifornia. Dr. and Mrs. Glenn T. Seal recently returned home from a week's visit to Carmel Valley, Calif. They went especially to attend the wedding of a nephew, neph-ew, Mitchell Black, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Black. They also visited with Mr .and Mrs. Fred DeLude (Helen Thorpe) at Walnut Cheek, California. Most TV commercials are worse than the ailment they propose to cure. j |
