Show Mapleton gets additions Jp telephone lines Streets in Mapleton along S00 North and 400 East and also al-so 300 West Center are being dug up to lay 14,000 feet of underground telephone cable lines of various sizes, according accord-ing to Jack Dalton, district manager for the Mountain Telephone Tel-ephone Company, This new addition will heln This new addition will help to alleviate tempoprary conditions con-ditions that have existed in the two housing developments in Mapleton the past few years, Mr. Dalton also stated that Mapleton is one of the fastest growing communities in his district and the additional cable will help provide telephone service ser-vice for the additional growth expected. The work will take at least six more weeks at a cost of approximately $81,333.00. Two of the telephone engineers engi-neers live in Mapleton and are neiping witn tne project. Tney are Richard and Evan Howell. The Peace Corps has appointed appoint-ed at least nine former Volunteers Volun-teers as county directors; six of them were named while still in their twenties, Director Jack Vaughn said.
