Show ; Many visit current ; exhibit of art Many Springville people i and others from out-of- town have already visited the annual All-Utah Art Exhibit at the Springville 1 High School Gallery, it was ' reported this week. Someone is in attendance at the gallery gal-lery practically 12 hours a day, from 9 a.m., to 9 p.m. i V o 1 u nteer representatives from ladies federated clubs and other organizations in the city, are in attendance throughout the afternoon and evening. Some exceptionally fine pieces or art, both pictures and pieces of statuary are 1 seen in the current exhib-t exhib-t it, which has been juried. I The prize entries, announ-1 announ-1 ced earlier, are all desig-s desig-s nated at the gallery. Judges t were, Harold Woodston of the Pleasant Grove High : School faculty; Ernel Anderson, Ander-son, Orem High School faculty fac-ulty and James C. Blanken- ship of BY High School faculty. fac-ulty. Of a p p r oximately 400 pieces of art work sent to the exhibit, slightly over 200 were selected for hanging. Springville is well represented repre-sented among the exhibiting artists with one and two pieces by the following, all . in the amateur group: F. Calvin Packard, Dennis Pap-worth, Pap-worth, Omar Hansen, Inez Chader, Carolyn Strang, Lou Jene M. Carter, Dona Whitney, Jon A. Bird, D. Brent Bird, Marilyn Moon Hall, Karen Williams, Onei-ta Onei-ta Sumsion, Helen Kendall, and Rell Francis in the professional pro-fessional group. Many other cities are represented rep-resented in the exhibit from Salt Lake City and Ogden on the north to Moab and St. George on the south. The exhibit will continue through the month of February Feb-ruary and public is invited. |
