Show Season opens in state Saturday for Utah's annual duck hunting The annual invasion of the State's marshlands . beginning Saturday will find an estimated estimat-ed 35,000 duck hunters primed for what should be an excellent opening day. Opening day shooting will start at noon with the early bird hunters moving onto the marsh early Saturday morning to get their favorite spot and have plenty of time to put out their decoys. Hunters 16 and over must have the Federal Migratory Bird Hunting Stamp in addition addi-tion to the Small Game or Combination License. Duck stamps may be obtained from any post office. Daily bag limit on ducks this year is 5 with a possession limit of 10 after two days of shooting. The daily bag limit may not include more than two Canvasbacks this year. Bag and possession limits on geese are six birds again this year, but no more than two of these may be Canadian geese. In addition there is the seasonal sea-sonal limit of eight on Canada geese. All Canadian Honkers taken this year must be tagged at the time of the kill with one of the goose tags you received when you purchased your Small Game or Combination License. Failure to plug shotguns is one of the most frequently violated vio-lated regulations during the opening weekend of the duck hunt. Hunters are also cautioned about shooting hours since both State and Federal officers is- sue a number of citations for infractions of this rule. Season on Wilson Snipe in Utah will not be open until November No-vember 16, 1967. Whistling Swans have not yet arrived on Uteih marshes but should be in by late October for those holding one of the Special Swan Permits. |
