Show Services held here for Joseph R. Smith Joseph Richard Smith, 32, died Friday, September 29, 1967, at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital in Las Vegas, Ve-gas, Nevada, of complications following surgery. Requiem Mass was conducted conduc-ted Tuesday forenoon at St. Francis Catholic Church, Pro-vo. Pro-vo. Holy Rosary was recited Monday at 8 p.m., at Wheeler Mortuary. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born Oct. 30, 1934 at Springville, a son of Clarence K. and Delia Carne-secca Carne-secca Smith. He married Do-reen Do-reen Concepcion, Nov. 27, 1953 at Pacific Grove, Calif. He was a graduate of Springville Spring-ville High School and was employed em-ployed as a timekeeper at the Mint Casino at Las Vegas at the time of his death. He was a former member of the Springville Jaycees, past member mem-ber of the Knights of Columbus, Colum-bus, Elks Lodge and the Eagles. He served as chaplain's assistant as-sistant at the Post Graduate Naval Air Station at Monterey, Calif. He was a member of the Catholic Church. His hobbies were golfing and bowling and the accordian, with which he entertained in many places. Survivors include his wife of Springville; one son and two daughters: Daniel J. Smith, Deborah Leigh and April Elizabeth Eliza-beth Smith, his parents, all of Springville; two sisters, Mrs. Jean Snow, Springville and Mrs. Richard (Carol Ann) Wiley Wi-ley of Salt Lake City; one foster fos-ter brother, Marvin Carnesecca, Boulder, Colorado. f ' Joseph Richard Smith, 32, for whom Requiem Mass was conducted Tuesday, at the St. Francis Church, Provo.
