Show Map!efon Mews Mrs. Lois Graves Phone 489-6674 Miss Marette Diamond, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Her-old Her-old Diamond became the bride of Randy Lee Kelsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Kelsey Kel-sey of Payson, Friday evening September 15. The ceremony was performed at the Mapleton Ward Church. A reception to honor them was held later that evening. Mrs. Rowena Palmer has recently re-cently returned from a seven-day seven-day vacation to Mesa, Arizona. She visited with her mother and father also her sister and family. She was also able to visit her brother who lives in Scottsdale near Mesa. While there she became ill, and was unable to drive home so she came home by air plane. Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Allen have arrived home from a vacation va-cation in Boulder, Colorado. Their son, David, who lives in this city is leaving for Turkey next week, on an assignment from the Bureau of Standards for whom he works. While there, he plans to meet friends and tour the Switzerland Temple, Tem-ple, then he will go to England to do some genealogy work. He expects to be gone about three weeks. The Allans also visited with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mal-heiro Mal-heiro who have recently moved to Denver, Colorado, from Idaho Falls. A class will be taught weekly week-ly at the Mapleton School by Dr. Hugh Allred. The subject will be "School and Parent Counciling." Visitors at the Preston Hooper home for the past several sev-eral days have been a sister, Mrs. Thales (Edna) Brown from Parowan and a niece, Mrs. Wesley (Phillip) Blake and son, Phil. Mrs. Lyle (Rowena) Palmer was surprised with a birthday dinner recently given by her daughters-in-law, Mrs. Bonnie Palmer and Mrs. Sylvia Palmer at the family home. Kurt Olsen is at home recuperating recup-erating from recent surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Larsen Lar-sen spent a few days at Yellowstone Yel-lowstone Park during the past week. A budget banquet will be held Thursday for the members of the Mapleton Second Ward. A banquet for all the girls and their partners in the Mapleton Ma-pleton Second Ward will be held Saturday evening. Mrs. Jayneann Payne (Mrs. Utah) will be there to speak to the girls. A double trio .consisting of Mrs. Beth Larsen, Mrs. Joyce Whiting, Mrs. Laura Bennett, Mrs. Kay Prestwich, Mrs. Beverly Walker and Mrs. Lavetta Westwood, will render ren-der a few numbers. The theme will be "Spiritual Harvest." Mapleton First Ward held an auction and barbecue supper Thursday evening of last week, for their ward members. A fashion show and opening social for ladies of First Ward will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. All those who have done any sewing during the summer months are invited to model their creations. |
