Show City renews franchise with railroad In a short meeting of the city council, presided over by Mayor Calvin Packard, Monday evening of this week, a representative repre-sentative of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad met with the council in regards to the franchise with the city. He also reported on the improvements im-provements made by the railroad rail-road along their right of way within the city. It was moved by Councilman Peay and seconded by Councilman Council-man Stewart that the city accept ac-cept the ordinance granting to the railroad company, a franchise fran-chise to maintain and operate a track on a portion of Fourth West Street in Springville. Hal Clyde, Ben Killpack and Wells Bringhurst sought improvements im-provements to the road on Hill Crest Drive. They were given an assurance that the city would inclule this area in the next years "C" road fund project. pro-ject. LuDean Litster met with the council to review " the life insurance in-surance program for the city employees which the city presently pres-ently has with his company and make recommendations for upgrading up-grading the program. The council agreed that they would consider his proposal after af-ter checking to see if it can be incorporated into the present pres-ent bookkeeping system. |
