Show Volleyball dual UCLA vs. BYU set for April 22 Intercollegiate volleyball will be featured at Brigham Young University April 22 at 2 p.m. on the main playing floor of the George Albert Smith Field-house Field-house when the nation's number-one ranked collegiate team, UCLA, meets the number-three ranked BYU. Following the BYU contest, the two teams will go to Salt Lake City for an evening match which will probably be held at South High School. Tickets for the BYU-UCLA match are . now on sale at the BYU ticket office in the Field-house. Field-house. The dual between UCLA and BYU will be somewhat of a preliminary to the NCAA games to be played in Detroit, Michigan, later in April. Jon Stanley, the BYU player-coach and captain of the United States national volleyball volley-ball team that played in Europe last summer, has already successfully suc-cessfully taken the BYU team outstanding volleyball tournaments tourna-ments and has high hopes of an NCAA championship this year. UCLA will feature two all-Americans all-Americans in Craig Miller and Ernie Sawara. The latter was also a member of the last U.S. Olympic team. Besides Stanley, some of the top performers on the BYU team are Richard Cox and Dave North of Salt Lake City, Ha-waiians Ha-waiians Jinx Naumu, Wilforn Navalta, Alaphia Laufau, Jeppy Hekekia and Bob Kwoa; and Ted Winfield from Newark, Calif. |
